Anthony Ambrose Alciati (Vercelli, 1878 - Milan, 1929) was an Italian
painter. After early studies at the Institute of Fine Arts of Vercelli,
in 1887 he moved to Milan where he attended the Brera Academy of Fine
Arts under Vespasian Caesar Bignami and heel, in 1920 succeeded by the
chair of the figure. He said, especially as a portraitist, revealing
influences Tranquillo Cremona for the mix of colors and Giovanni Boldini
to the frivolity and the flimsiness of some female figures (Gallery of
Modern Art in Milan and Rome). It was also the author of frescoes in the
Villa Pirotta Brunate (Como), Lombardy, and in some churches.
